Chuck E.’s STEAM-tastic Adventure is a STEM.org-accredited K–5 field trip that combines grade-specific science lessons with 90 minutes of All You Can Play games, pizza, drinks, and a take-home goodie bag. It’s the easiest certified STEAM field trip for Los Angeles Unified School District — everything teachers need is included, and booking takes minutes online. Schools in Sun Valley book directly at chuckecheese.com, up to 12 months out and no less than 48 hours in advance. Groups of 10 start at $17.99 per child; groups of 30 or more at $15.99. What Do Students Learn at Each Grade Level?
Kindergarten & 1st Grade: Pushes & Pulls
Students explore the fundamental concepts of push and pull forces, building a foundational understanding of how objects move. The in-store video lesson with Chuck E. and Professor Ponder brings forces to life through arcade gameplay — students draw force arrows and predict outcomes before testing them on real games. 2nd & 3rd Grade: Potential & Kinetic Energy
Students investigate potential and kinetic energy, learning how stored energy becomes motion through real-world game examples. They make predictions, observe outcomes, and record results on their worksheets — the same scientific method they use in classroom labs, but with flashing lights and redemption tickets as the payoff. This grade band’s lesson consistently earns high marks from teachers for connecting abstract physics concepts to tangible, memorable experiences.
4th & 5th Grade: Game Strategy & Problem Solving
The most complex lesson in the sequence asks students to apply strategic thinking, test hypotheses, evaluate results, and revise their approach — the full engineering design cycle. Groups brainstorm together, identify the most efficient path through a game challenge, execute, and reflect. Real-world problem-solving built around the games they love. Teacher guides include post-visit extension activities to bring the learning back to the classroom.

How Does Chuck E.’s Kid Check® System Work?
Kid Check® is the reason teachers and principals can say yes to this field trip with confidence. At check-in, every student and every accompanying adult receives a matching invisible-ink stamp. No student leaves the building without a staff member verifying that the exiting child’s stamp matches the supervising adult’s. It’s a controlled entry-and-exit system purpose-built for school groups. Combined with weekday-only availability — so your group isn’t navigating a Saturday crowd — the visit is calm, organized, and safe from arrival to departure. Questions? Teacher FAQ: Everything You Need to Know Before Booking
- Yes. Chuck E.’s STEAM-tastic Adventure is STEM.org-accredited for kindergarten through 5th grade. Each grade band (K–1, 2–3, 4–5) has a distinct lesson aligned to science standards. Teachers receive a certification document with booking confirmation that can be submitted for professional development or field trip approval.
- The program is designed for kindergarten through 5th grade, ages 5–11. There are three grade-band lessons: Pushes & Pulls (K–1), Potential & Kinetic Energy (2–3), and Game Strategy & Problem Solving (4–5). Groups with mixed grade levels can be accommodated — mention your composition when booking.
- Every booking includes: a grade-specific teacher guide (PDF), a pre-visit activity packet for classroom use before the trip, in-store student worksheets, and a STEM.org accreditation certificate. All materials are emailed with the booking confirmation. There is nothing to purchase or print before arrival.
- Plan for approximately 2.5 to 3 hours total, including the structured STEAM lesson, pizza break, and 90 minutes of All You Can Play games. The lesson and worksheet portion runs approximately 45 minutes. Weekday scheduling means the venue is quieter and supervision is more manageable.
- The minimum group size is 10 students. Bookings are available up to 12 months in advance and must be made at least 48 hours before the visit date. Schools book directly at chuckecheese.com — no intermediary required.
- Groups of 10–29 are priced at $17.99 per child. Groups of 30 or more are $15.99 per child.
