Chuck E. Cheese’s Celebrates ‘National Video Games Day’ with Free Games

America’s #1 arcade offers 20 minutes of free game play on Sept. 12

DALLAS, Sept. 7, 2017 – Chuck E. Cheese’s, America’s #1 video arcade is celebrating National Video Games Day by offering guests 20 minutes of free game play with $5 minimum food purchase. Video game enthusiasts are invited to visit any participating U.S. Chuck E. Cheese’s location on Tuesday, September 12 to help celebrate this fun day by playing all the games that the family dining and entertainment leader offers.

“At Chuck E. Cheese’s, we’re always investing in new and exciting games while offering the classic favorites that our guests love to play time and time again,” said Michael Hartman, chief marketing officer of CEC Entertainment Inc. “Every year, millions of families make Chuck E. Cheese’s their go-to destination for food, fun and games, so we are excited to celebrate this fun holiday by offering 20 minutes of free games.”

Across the country, Chuck E. Cheese’s has rolled out Play Pass, its new tap-to-play game card system which uses RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology in place of tokens. The technology provides guests with an enhanced experience that is easier to use, faster, and cleaner. Guests simply tap the card to the reader and they can immediately start playing their favorite games. This is in contrast to other video game providers that still use tokens or more complicated magnetic-stripe cards that must be swiped.

The National Video Games Day offer is valid all day, limit 1 per guest with $5 minimum food purchase at participating U.S. Play Pass locations only.
