Terms & Conditions

Chuck E. Cheese’s is proud to offer its Guests with Play Pass a stored value card (the “Play Pass”) that allows you to play games at participating Chuck E. Cheese’s locations in the United States (“Participating Location(s)”).

These terms and conditions (the “Terms & Conditions”) govern all Play Pass cards and their use. The Play Pass, including all administration related thereto, is provided by CEC Entertainment Concepts, L.P. or its affiliates, parents, or subsidiary companies (collectively “Chuck E. Cheese’s,” “we,” “us,” “our,” “ours”). By purchasing, recharging, or using the Play Pass, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms & Conditions, and your use shall be subject to these Terms & Conditions, as they may be amended from time to time, without further notice to you. You can obtain the latest version of these Terms & Conditions at the cashier or at www.chuckecheeses.com/playpass-termsandprivacy

General Information
A Play Pass is a stored value card with a radio frequency identification chip which, depending on the price of the game, can activate the selected game inside Chuck E. Cheese’s. Each game, excluding those games elected by us to operate by any other system (as will be noted thereupon), located at Participating Locations requires a specified number of Play Points to play (“Game(s)”). Play Points required to play a Game is displayed on each Game in the display window at the Play Pass swipe and vary in value. With each Play Pass swipe and Game play, Play Points are deducted from the total balance of Play Points and the remaining balance of that Play Points is shown on the display.

You may add value to your Play Pass Card at a kiosk or cashier station. You can use cash, credit cards or tokens to add Play Points to your card.

Coin action Games (e.g., Smokin’ Token) can be played by tapping your card on the Game’s card reader. 1 Play Point will be deducted from your card and a token will be dispensed from the Game so you can play the Game.

The Play Points you purchase do not expire, are not subject to a maintenance fee and are stored on your Play Pass. The tickets you win do not expire. The Play Pass can be used only at Participating Locations.

You may combine Play Points from any number of Play Pass card onto other Play Pass card. The Play Pass card used to transfer Play Points to another Play Pass will contain a zero balance after the transfer but will remain active to allow for additional recharges with no additional fee.

Ticket balances are not currently captured on the Play Pass card.

All sales and use tax is included in your Play Pass purchase.

Chuck E. Cheese’s reserves the right not to accept a Play Pass or otherwise limit use of the Play Pass if it believes the use is unauthorized, fraudulent or otherwise unlawful or violates these Terms & Conditions.

You will not be sent statements of itemized transactions involving your Play Pass.

The price of each Game will be displayed on the card reader located on each machine.

Purchase and Balances
You can obtain a Play Pass in three ways:

  • Purchase for $1.00 plus sales tax (“Activation Fee”) with either a credit card, Chuck E. Cheese’s gift card or cash from authorized Chuck E. Cheese’s employees, including but not limited to Cashier or Manager (collectively, “Authorized Employee(s)”) or from a kiosk at Participating Locations;

  • Purchase either a Value Meal or a Play Pass Package and receive a certain number of Play Pass card(s) loaded with the prescribed number of play points. If you wish to add Play Pass cards to a Value Meal or Play Pass Package you may purchase them by paying the Activation Fee for each additional card; or

  • As part of a Birthday Party package.

Where permitted by law, a one-time activation fee may be charged (in addition to the desired amount of your Play Pass purchase) to purchase the Play Pass.

A Play Pass with an activation fee required will receive three (3) Play Points preloaded on the card (“Bonus Play Points”). See an Authorized Employee or go to a kiosk for details. The Play Pass can be recharged for no additional Activation Fee.

Play Pass card can be recharged by an Authorized Employee at any Participating Location, any Participating Locations’ kiosk in the denominations posted. To recharge in an amount not available at a kiosk, please see an Authorized Employee at a Participating Location.

Your Play Points balance displayed at each Game only shows your Play Points balance for the Play Points type used and may not reflect your entire Play Points balance on your Play Pass. You may check Play Pass Play Points balances by going to an Authorized Employee, kiosks throughout Participating Locations or at www.chuckecheese.com/playpass. In addition, you can check your Game play at Participating Locations’ kiosks. When the display window at the Game reads “Low Balance,” the Game costs more Play Points than remain on your Play Pass; however, you may have enough Play Points to play another Game that requires fewer Play Points to play. Therefore, you should check your Play Pass balance and go to the Front Desk for a Game List to determine which Game you can play for the amount of Play Points that remain on your Play Pass. If you do not have enough Play Points on your Play Pass to play any Game on the Game List provided, you can recharge your Play Pass or transfer the remaining balance to another Play Pass.

At this time, ticket balances are not currently captured on Play Pass cards. Paper Tickets will continue to be dispensed at each ticket dispensing Game. If you win Tickets, you may take the Paper Tickets to our Ticket Muncher which counts your Paper Tickets and dispenses a receipt displaying the total number of tickets you inserted (“Winner’s Receipts”).

Based on pricing and availability of merchandise in the Merchandise Counter at Participating Locations, you may not have enough Tickets to redeem for any item. In addition, you may have Tickets remaining after redeeming for item(s) from the Merchandise Counter that are insufficient to purchase additional items. Your unredeemed Paper Tickets/Winner’s Receipts may be saved for future use.

Tickets/Winner’s Receipts do not have a cash value and may not be refunded or exchanged for cash. Tickets/Winner’s Receipts are not transferable.

Tickets/Winner’s Receipts never expire, have no maintenance fee and can be used at any Participating Location.

Tickets/Winner’s Receipts that are (a) wet, altered or defaced in any way, (b) appear to be counterfeit, or (c) do not contain evidence that they were dispensed by a Game or Ticket Muncher at a Participating Location, will be confiscated and not accepted for redemption.

You may register your Play Pass through a kiosk at a Participating Location.

Chuck E. Cheese’s may suspend or terminate your Play Pass and revoke or limit any or all of the rights and privileges granted to you at any time without notice, liability, reimbursement or compensation. Termination may result from your fraudulent or unauthorized use of the Play Pass or violation of these Terms & Conditions. If we terminate your card with cause, all Play Points will be voided and may not be used. You will receive no compensation from us for voided Play Points. If we terminate your Play Pass without cause, we will refund or issue store credits equal to the balance of Play Points purchased/held in your Play Pass account less any amounts that you may owe Chuck E. Cheese’s.
